Minnie Visick Hand Drawn Selection: of c.1910-15 pen
& ink images featuring Cats (3), Kookaburras (2) or a Kangaroo, the feline subjects humorously presented. Two of the cards, dated "Xmas 1910" or "Xmas 1915", have personal messages verso, and are signed by Visick;
some mild spotting/edge soiling on the cards, generally very good to fine condition. In a 2016 article in the New South Wales Postcard Society Journal by Jeff Fitzgerald, when referring to Visick's 'cat' artwork, stated several
were "equal in quality to that of the famous British cat artist Louis Wain. Ethel Minnie Visick (1886-1926), who resided in Brunswick, Melbourne, was crippled by polio at the age of 10, made a living from selling hand drawn
postcards, particularly in the Brunswick/Coburg areas of Melbourne. (6) (Image1) (Image2)
