2774 C Malaya-1945 British Military Administration (interim postal arrangements): stampless envelope posted Taiping 29 SEP 1945 to local address, canc slogan machine d/s. Inside is (rare) 24/9/45 circular ex Taiping postmaster, publicisng temporary free postage (up to 1 ounce) as no stamps were available after the Japanese surrender 2/9/45. The BMA ovpts were issued on 19/10/45 (when free postage ended). Two light tone patches, otherwise fine.
