S.G. #9e |
S.G. #9e, 1870 4c Slate, watermarked crown and CC,
perforated 12 1/2, an incredibly choice mint example of this
exceedingly rare and notoriously difficult stamp, in fact we believe the
example offered here is among the very finest in existence, as it is
one of the few extant that is completely sound, well centered and with
original gum, its centering is the finest of any example we have seen
offered in recent memory, its color is deep and luxuriant on bright fresh
paper, and its reverse features clean o.g (not toned as often found), with
a minor h.r., extremely fine; an exciting stamp for the finest specialized
collection of Hong Kong or for an advanced collection of British
Commonwealth stamps; signed H. Bloch (Scott #25; $5,750.00). (Image) |
