S.G. #J1/111 |
S.G. #1/111, The extraordinary collection of Burma Independence Army
overprints and Japanese occupation issues, 1942-44, a very scarce and
highly comprehensive collection of these fascinating issues, being one of
the most representative collections we have ever offered, containing what
appears to be 52 different overprints of the Burma Independence Army, with
several key stamps included, some of which catalog hundreds of pounds each;
plus there is an essentially complete (57 items) collection of the Japanese
occupation issues, filled with many scarce issues including the October
1942 re-surcharged issues complete, as well as some overprint varieties,
all o.g. with only a few exceptions, fine-very fine; the vast majority of
stamps have been signed "B.M." and to a lesser extent by M.D. Rowell;
examination of this exciting collection is essential to fully evaluate the
genuine stamps which certainly predominate (Scott #1N1/2N27). |
