2613 ng SAMOA, 1914, 1sh on 1m Carmine, 1 Shilling (110a SG 111).> Unused (no gum), rich color, wide margins<><>^VERY FINE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE SAMOA 1 SHILLING VARIETY. ONLY 35 WERE PRINTED AND VERY FEW ARE KNOWN.^<><>According to G.R.I. by RobSAMOA, 1914, 1sh on 1m Carmine, "1 Shilling" (110a, SG 111). Unused (no gum), rich color, wide margins

VERY FINE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE SAMOA "1 SHILLING" VARIETY. ONLY 35 WERE PRINTED AND VERY FEW ARE KNOWN.

According to "G.R.I." by Robert M. Gibbs, the entire first printing of 100 of the 1sh on 1m stamps was an error, with the "s" at the end of "Shilling". The Administration found another 20 1m stamps, which were surcharged correctly, and then found an additional 15 which were also then surcharged correctly without the final "s".
