EXTREMELY FINE. THIS IS THE ONLY PLATE BLOCK OF THE PHILIPPINES $5.00 1903 OVERPRINT ISSUE KNOWN TO EXIST. AN INCOMPARABLE SHOWPIECE AND ONE OF THE KEYS TO A COMPLETE COLLECTION OF BUREAU ISSUE PLATE BLOCKS.

Only 782 of the $5.00 1903 Philippines Overprint were sold, and only this plate number block is known to exist. The underlying stamp, Scott 313, is also a great rarity in plate block form, with one in private hands and another in the Miller collection at The New York Public Library.
