VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A MAGNIFICENT EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 1857 ONE-CENT PERFORATED TYPE Ia STAMP. ONE OF THE FEW KNOWN USED EXAMPLES WITH CHOICE CENTERING AND A LIGHT CANCEL.

Due to narrow spacing on the plate, most examples of this stamp have part of the type characteristics cut away by the perforations. It is an obvious early impression from Plate 4.
