VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE BULL'S EYE FRANKING FOR 240-REIS SHIP POSTAGE.

The postage on letters travelling by ship was rated at 120-reis up to one-half ounce plus an additional 60-reis for each quarter-ounce increment. This letter must have weighed between -3/4 and 1 ounce. Although contrary to regulations, stamps on ship letters are sometimes found uncancelled. (Image)
