EXTREMELY FINE. A SUPERB ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1870 ONE-CENT NATIONAL BANK NOTE ISSUE. ESPECIALLY DESIRABLE WITH THE I GRILL.
In 2004 we started to distinguish between the H and I Grills in our catalogue descriptions and research, in an effort to establish relative scarcity. It is our opinion that Scott Catalogue should list the H and I Grills separately, as they do for the A, B, C, D, Z, E and F Grills of the 1867-68 Issue. According to Scott Catalogue, the H Grill is found on all values, and the I Grill is found only on the 1c, 2c, 3c, 7c, 10c and 15c. Certified copies of the 6c are also known, and the 24c and 90c are reported to exist as well. We have only offered two other unused 1c I Grill since we started keeping our detailed records.
Ex Morris. With 2991 and 2001 P.F. certificates not specifying the grill type. (Image)
VERY FINE AND CHOICE. THE 1870 2-CENT NATIONAL BANK NOTE COMPANY GRILLED ISSUE IS RARELY FOUND IN MINT NEVER-HINGED CONDITION. ONLY A FEW EXIST IN THIS GRADE.

EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1870 6-CENT UNGRILLED NATIONAL BANK NOTE COMPANY ISSUE.

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A RARE MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 7-CENT 1870 NATIONAL BANK NOTE ISSUE. AN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT STAMP TO FIND IN SUCH SUPERB CONDITION.
A review of our computerized records for the past 14 years found that we have only offered three other Mint N.H. examples, including one graded Fine only. The P.S.E. has not yet certified a single Mint N.H. example of Scott 149. This stamp comes from a block broken years ago.
With 1985 and 2007 P.F. certificates. Scott Retail as hinged (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE. A RARE MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1870 10-CENT NATIONAL BANK NOTE COMPANY UNGRILLED ISSUE.
This was the second stamp from the top in the vertical strip of four in Caspary.
With copy of 1989 P.F. certificate for vertical strip of three (top stamp). Scott Retail as hinged (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1870 15-CENT NATIONAL BANK NOTE COMPANY UNGRILLED ISSUE. RARE WITH SUCH STUNNING COLOR AND WITH SUCH WIDE MARGINS.
The 15c 1870 National Grilled Issue (Scott 141) is widely recognized as an extremely rare stamp in choice original-gum condition. Less well known is the fact that its ungrilled counterpart -- Scott 152 -- is comparably challenging to find in such condition.
