585 c 3c 1861-67 Issue Covers. Approximately 400 covers, wide range of towns, some better markings, a few fancy cancellations, the covers in the shoebox are mostly a "calendar" of dates and we note quite a few month/day/year circular datestamps beginning on August 22, 1861 and continues on throughout the Pink and Rose Pink probable use period, there are certainly a number of Rose Pinks and even a couple very "Pinkish" (if not Pink stamps, the earliest date for Nos. 64 and 64b is August 17, 1861, and for the Rose No. 65 August 19, 1861), the other part of the lot is a collection of Washington D.C. covers about 65% of which are Nos. 65, 88 or 94, in addition there are a few non-3c covers as No. 77 used to France with purple Philadelphia Foreign Mail circular datestamp, single use No. 86 on drop letter and a No. 98 used to Switzerland, condition varies from Good to Very Fine, excellent lot for the specialist E. 1,000-1,500
