VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE MIXED-FRANKING COVER FROM VENEZUELA TO NEW YORK WITH THE DANISH WEST INDIES SECOND ISSUE AND 10-CENT 1861 ISSUE. THE DANISH WEST INDIES STAMP IS RARELY SEEN TIED BY THE ST. THOMAS DATESTAMP ON SUCH MIXED-FRANKING COVERS.

This cover was carried from St. Thomas to New York on the U.S. & Brazil Mail Steam Ship Company's Merrimack, departing May 15 and arriving May 22, corresponding to the postmark dates on this cover.
