THE UNIQUE EXAMPLE OF THE HONOUR'S CARRIER STAMP ON PINK PELURE PAPER.
This cover is accompanied by a 1990 P.F. certificate describing the stamp as a genuine example of the de-listed Scott 4LB10. The few known pelure paper stamps are printed from the first setting with wide spacing between stamps and the period after "Paid." Despite the certificate and other experts' acceptance of this unique pink pelure paper variation, Scott carries a footnote stating "believed not to have been issued by the post, but to have been created later and perhaps accidentally." We guarantee this stamp to be on pelure paper (with pink color) without time limit.

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. PROBABLY FEWER THAN A DOZEN GENUINE COVERS EXIST WITH THE BORDER-OF-LINKS STAMP ISSUED BY HONOUR'S POST IN 1857-58. ONLY FIVE COVERS ARE KNOWN TO US WITH 4LB13 TIED IN COMBINATION WITH THE 3-CENT 1851-57 ISSUE.
A survey of auction catalogues and photo files produced only eleven 4LB13 covers, about half of which had no tying cancellation. Five covers in our records have 3c 1851-57 stamps and the 4LB13 tied.
