Jul. 2?, 1888" duplex on Public Ledger corner card cover to Seoul, Korea, clear strike of "Nagasaki, Japan 5 Sep. 88" transit circular datestamp, San Francisco, Yokohama, Nagasaki and receiving backstamps, stamp with slight toning and crease at top right, otherwise Very Fine, rare usage to Korea (Image)

5c Indigo (216). Tied by indistinct cancel, "Ridgeland Ill. Dec. 29" circular datestamp on 1888 cover to Seoul, Korea via San Francisco and Japan, twice struck brown "Due 10" handstamp of Nagasaki, with matching circular datestamp on face, similar Yokohama datestamp on back, additionally franked with Japan 1877 10s Blue (62) tied by boxed due marking, tiny cover tear at top and slightly reduced at left

VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE MIXED-COUNTRY FRANKING TO KOREA COMBINING THE STAMPS OF THE UNITED STATES AND JAPAN.
