145 E image1875, $1.00 Green, 1bbl., Composite Die Essay on Card (REA35-E, Turner B-35). 72 x 72mm frame essay on card with vignette essay (incomplete design) on India cut and pasted into center, plate letter and position number added in pencil (very faint due to erasure), corners clipped, couple minor flaws

VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE AND POSSIBLY UNIQUE COMPOSITE DIE ESSAY FOR THE 1875 SERIES $1.00 ONE-BARREL BEER STAMP.

Unlike the 50c -1/2bbl. offered in the previous lot, this essay was made from two separate components. The frame essay was printed on card from the typographic plate, while the center was made from the engraved die and pasted into position.
