1803 og Canadian Provinces - Newfoundland Mostly Unused Collection. Laid out in a small stockbook, some early imperforate stamps including Nos. 12 and 13, this period the stamps are often no gum, after that nearly all have original gum, including better such as 1865 5c Brown and 1876-79 Roulette set of four, this period has some duplication (sometimes unused and used) and a few varieties such as imprint copies and proofs, 1897 onwards contains all of the complete sets, also Air Post issues and the Postage Due set, plus a few blocks including Nos. C6-C8 in Mint N.H. blocks of four, earliest stamps in slightly mixed quality (but includes Very Fine), later issues largely Fine-Very Fine, overall a desirable collection of this popular area

1805   Canadian Provinces Used Collection. On Schaubek pages, British Columbia includes No. 17 with Greene Foundation certificate, New Brunswick includes No. 2 (B.P.A. certificate) and No. 3 (cut in, Gratton certificate), Nova Scotia includes a Very Fine example of No. 5 (Sismondo certificate), and No. 7 (three margins, Greene Foundation certificate), the strongest province is Newfoundland, with some higher cataloging stamps from the first two issues, such as Nos. 4, 5, 7, 8 (all with certificates) and an attractive four-margin example of the rare 1-shilling orange (No. 15) with Richter certificate, later 20th Century sets, Air Posts including No. C18 on cover, and more, condition is somewhat mixed, though the higher value stamps are usually sound (none of the certificates mention any faults), overall a worthwhile collection that should be inspected

To about 1950 on Schaubek pages, the better items were purchased at auction and in much nicer condition than usually found, including No. 1, choice four-margin example of No. 2 with Sismondo certificate, two shades of No. 5 (one on cover, both with certificates), Nos. 7, 9 (certificate), 12, 16 (faint crease, with certificate), good run of Large Queens including 3c on laid paper, Jubilees complete, the $5.00 well-centered with purple Winnipeg cancels and P.F. certificate, most of the 20th Century stamps present including Back-of-Book, as mentioned the higher value stamps are often in Very Fine condition, the lesser valued stamps in somewhat mixed quality
