VERY FINE. A REMARKABLE AND VISUAL INDIAN MODERN ERROR. ONLY FOURTEEN EXAMPLES ARE RECORDED FROM THE SOLE SHEET DISCOVERED.

The bottom two rows of a single sheet were completely omitted creating only fourteen examples. The middle row was partially affected to a small degree.

1349 og ImageINDIA, 1948, 3-1/2a Gandhi, Official (SG O150b; Scott O112B). Lightly hinged (likely a small natural gum skip), excellent centering, deep rich color, horizontal crease at bottom

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE 3-1/2-ANNAS GANDHI OFFICIAL WHICH WERE NEVER OFFERED FOR SALE TO THE PUBLIC.

Only 300 were printed and they were all intended to be used by the Governor-General, none were sold to the public. Only a small number of unused stamps managed to get out.
