VERY FINE. THIS IS A NEW DISCOVERY. IT IS THE SECOND REPORTED EXAMPLE OF THIS GREAT RARITY, AND THE ONLY ONE IN UNUSED CONDITION.

This stamp should be the basis for a new listing in the Scott Catalogue. A similar variety is known on another issue, RE198a with first line larger type and second line smaller type, and is priced at $15,000.00 for unused (one known) and $5,000.00 for used (four known). The other recorded example, with perf initials, was offered in our 2015 Rarities sale. (Image)
