EXTREMELY FINE. THIS TRIPLE OVERPRINT OF THE 1893 10-CENT PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT ENTIRE IS BELIEVED TO BE UNIQUE. ONE OF THE GREAT RARITIES OF HAWAIIAN POSTAL STATIONERY.

Ex Hugh Clark and Irving Green. Accompanied by a 1953 letter from Higgins & Gage philatelic auctions to Mr. Green describing the history of the entire and offering it for sale. Scott lists a triple overprint for the 5c value at $7,500.00 but does not list this the triple overprint on this value (Image)

VERY FINE. ONE OF TWO REPORTED USED EXAMPLES OF THE RARE 10-CENT ENTIRE WITH BLUE INSIDE AND RED PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT OVERPRINT.

This is one of two reported genuinely used Scott U14 entires. It appears that the sender added 30c postage in anticipation of sending it by registered mail to Canada. However, it was not registered in Honolulu and went by regular mail. (Image)
