Petersburg, Va., 1861, 5¢ red, 2 singles on cameo cover, earliest known use (Scott 65X1), pos. 1 and pos. 4, former
with enormous top left corner selvage and full to large margins bottom and right, latter with huge top selvage and full to huge margins with traces of ornaments of neighboring stamp at right, canceled by blue "Petersburg Va. Sep. 24" Type A circular
datestamp being the earliest known use on cover with red cameo corner card for "P.H. Booth Commission Merchant, Bollingbrook St."; stamps with gum staining, cover with usual staple holes for this correspondence, otherwise Fine, Listed in the
online Frank J. Crown census., There are 2 known Sept. 24 covers, the other is a different cameo and the stamp is pos. 2. It is very logical to assume that pos. 1 was used before pos. 2 so this is the earlier "fraternal twin" cover. ex
