1508 o 544 image1923, 1¢ green, rotary sheet waste, perf 11 (Scott 544), wavy black machine cancellation, extremely attractive example of this rarely offered rotary sheet waste stamp, with exceptionally wide margins and brilliant fresh color; lightly signed on reverse in pencil by "Geo. B. Sloane", indicating that this was an original discovery from the Johl collection; a wonderful opportunity to acquire a handsome example of this scarce stamp and one that comes with an interesting story; hint of a tiny hinge thin at top only shows in fluid, and is not mentioned on the accompanying certificate, otherwise Fine, with clear 1945 A.P.S. certificate.
