These covers were not supposed to be charged postage due but they often were. Such treatment is much more common on covers to Egypt. This is one of two recorded covers so charged in Chile. Rare, Fine to Very Fine.

2051   imagePalestine, 1918 (Oct. 12), civilian letter from SZ 8 (Beirut) via Port Said to Cairo, posted free well after the free period was over; it was taxed with a pair of Egypt 1 pi postage due stamps for the postage and the fine, censored, most unusual, Very Fine.
