The "Adriatic" departure from New York on Mar. 9th 1861 was delayed as she had been sold to
the Galway Line. Her mails were transferred to the Inman Line as a result. The "Adriatic" sailed from New York on March 13th bound for Southampton, where she was docked and surveyed before taking her place in the Galway Line. Incidentally, she
carried the mails intended for the Cunarder "Australasian" which had failed to arrive at New York. (Image1)
