Two singles of each, all cons 135-1865, showing both without and with manuscript district name at bottom, boxed Matamoros date stamp cancels (Schatzkes 732), F.-V.F., although a fair quantity of stamps was issues to Matamoros, the issue is quite scarce because the period of use was short. Follansbee No. 36-37 $200+.

Cons 167-1865, tied by "Pachuca, Oct 8, 1865" cds (Schatzkes 1120) on folded letter sheet to Mexico City, endorsed via "conducta de Don Juan Bustamente", Mexico receiving backstamp; cover soiling and edge wear, Fine, a rare over the battle lines usage.

Since Pachuca was in French hands and Bustamente was the Republican Governor to the north, arrangements would have to have been made for the passage of the mail across the lines.
