While producing
the 2¢ plate "7942", during one of the inspections it was noted that three positions in the plate were not satisfactory and needed to be burnished out and re-entered. The transfer roll for the 5¢ stamp was mistakenly used with the
error passing through production unnoticed, with the error sheets released in perf. 10 (467), perf. 11. (505) and a limited number imperf. (485).
