3246 o/    46027 Mexico, 1856 First Issue Group. Lot of 24 stamps (all but one neatly cancelled), two covers and one Sello Negro front; ½r to 8r included, stamps include Apam, Cuernavaca, Tabasco, Pachuca, Morelia, Puebla, Lagos, Cordova Saltillo and Veracruz, several are from small towns (Pazcuaro, Apam, Chalchicomula, Acacintro, Atotonilco, etc), there is an Apam pair on piece postally used, a 2r Cuernavaca used out of district in Mexico City and a vertical strip of three 2r unused from Lagos; NF $1,053 just for the off cover stamps, covers are from Acacintro (Puebla) and a beautiful one from Tlacotalpam, Sello Negro is an official use on front from Tehuacan dated Oct 11, 1856.

Mostly used collection in five vintage deluxe Godden albums annotated on quad pages with volumes numbered 21-24 and 28, volume 21 contains a balance of collection of Imperial Mexico with/70+ stamps of the 1864-67 Maximilian & Eagle issues, Volumes 22-24 contain 600+ stamps and 69 covers of the 1874-83 engraved Hidalgo issues arranged by district overprint "1" Mexico to Zamora, volume 28 concentrates on the engraved Hidalgos by paper varieties with/250+ stamps and five covers, an amazing old time assemblage, generally fine to very fine or better.

3253 o      Mexico, Ribbon Cancels on Eagle Stamps. Group of ten eagle stamps and one Maximilian stamp include districts Guaymas, Guadalajara, Puebla, Mexico and Veracruz with the rarely found "Ribbon Cancels" as described by Stout in an article of Mexicana included, they remain scarce for collectors, the Maximilian 25c Schatzkes 838 is most unusual.

3255 /o      Mexico, Maximilian Issue Collection, 1866-67. Arranged on pages by consignment numbers, dates of issue and denotes the number of stamps issued for each consignment. Included are lithograph and engraved Maximilians, with a total of 332 stamps, and 9 Mepsi certificates. This is one of the largest Maximilian collections seen, on any recent market. The Follansbee value not counting subs, plate varieties or cancels is approximately $17,795. A page of Maximilian "remainders" is included for completion. A careful inspection will reward the knowledgeable collector of Mexico classics.
