1684       Latin America, Airmail Postal History. Attractive grouping of 600-700 middle range priced airmail covers from North, Central and South America. There is no USA or Canada. All of the countries are more or less equally represented with mostly commercial uses with the vast majority of pre World War Two vintage. Huge variety with very little if any duplication. Included are different usages such as censors, registered, better flights and unusual destinations. Generally very fine. All are sleeved and priced with retail values reaching $17,500.

1685 /o      Leeward Islands, Reference Collection, 1890-1952. The Micheal N. Oliver working reference collection of definitive issues, over 200 stamps mounted in spiral binder with pages from his book (The Leeward islands Notes for Philatelist), meticulously annotated by shade and paper, all mint except three stamps, includes first QV set, all KEVII sets, KGV set (ex-the 10sh & £1), all printings of the KGVI high values (10sh 6 examples including the scarce SG 113a n.h., £1 9 examples representing all printings); a marvelous group for the specialist.

1686       Liberia, Specialized Balance. Mix of material mostly revolving around the 1892-1902 Pres. Johnson portrait issues and the 1903 Liberty issue; Johnson issues includes better varieties including 8¢ inverted center x2, inverted sideways, imperf and imperf between pairs, sheets including official issues, $5 sheets including trial color, rare $5 violet & black trial color, 10¢ including official ordinary handstamp study as well as perf and shade studies of other issues, specimens, similar $5 study, Liberty issue including Perkins Bacon trial color sets of 9 on pages and other proof material, also includes some other proof sets, covers, etc., etc.; worth proper evaluation.

A marvelous collection with choice examples of scarcer villages and a plethora of socked-on-the-nose cancels. Includes blocks of 4 with Adira/Anchor/Ungherebe, s/l Paquebot, retta on a pair of the 1f applied in Egypt, and other maritime markings, QEII with Ghana cds, KGVI with Kwahutafo, Gold Coast cds, QV values to the 5/ (4), KGV to the 2/, 5/ (single and pair), 10/, etc. An excellent collection.

Of mostly numeral cancellations on album pages and black stock sheets, more than 285 stamps, 21 forgeries and reprints including sheet of the 1847 Post Office in blue, blocks of 4 and 15 and a postal stationery card. A strong showing of three ring numerals with 1-7, 12, 14, 16 on various denominations of the De La Rue issues, a range of barred numerals, B32, B53, B65, etc. Many choice strikes. An excellent assemblage.
