The live auction session begins on Friday, January 17 at 2:30 PM EST (11:30 AM PST). Lot 30268. VENEZUELA. Estados Unidos de Venezuela. 8 Pesos, 27.8.1811. P-7. PMG Very Fine 25. An incredible rarity from the first series of Venezuela and only the second time we have offered this rare denomination, missing even from the Rosenman collection. The 8 Pesos is the second highest denomination of the 1811-12 series of Venezuela, considered the first series of paper money printed in South America. To the best of our knowledge, the 16 Pesos is not known to exist, making the 8 Pesos offered here the key denomination of this historically significant series. The present piece is of the second emission, with stamped signatures of Lorenzo Sata y Subiria, Josef Esteban de Alustiza, and José Joaquin Yarza. This is a different emission and signature combination than the note we previously offered.

  • Heritage 60508 - US Coins Dallas, TX - January 12-12, 2026 Bust Coinage US Coins. Lot 51594. 1795 $1 Flowing Hair, Three Leaves, B-5, BB-27, R.1, Fine 12 PCGS. BB-27 is the typically encountered Three Leaves variety, but nearly all examples display a narrow die line between star 5 and the highest neck curl. That line or "bar" is absent on the present coin. The finer details of the portrait and eagle are worn, but strong outlines remain. Bright pewter patina shows soft tan-gold toning and faint lavender accents on some of the device high points. Abrasions are consistent with Fine examples, showing just a few horizontal marks in front of Liberty's profile.
