Unreserved Auction Sale - October 30-31, 2024

Our June auction was very well received, and greatly appreciated by our clients, especially those living far away. We continue to offer more images online, allowing you, the bidders, the ability to see more than just what we describe. The expression, “a picture is worth a thousand words”, is very true, especially in describing these large lots.

This auction offers nice sections of Postal History, with stampless, advertising; Pence; Cents including Proofs; Large Queens with cancels, and watermarks, shades, papers, varieties; Small Queens, with mint, used, multiples, and the continuation of the Small Queens County collections, covering Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Is; as well as Edward experimental coils, and George V including Admirals.

The second session starts with George VI, with lots of varieties, including imperforates, pre-print paper folds, and misperforations. Complete booklets, Semi-Official Airs, Revenues. The BNA section has many classics with British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Is, and Newfoundland, plus lots for specialized Forgery collections. The Foreign section has several properties as received, and a few last-minute consignments that truly deserve a look. For those of you that are Space and related collectors, this sale is for you, with 50 lots from single covers to groupings, mostly of the NASA Space Shuttle mission covers, including Recovery covers, many with Crew signatures.

My father used to say, ‘our shelves are overflowing’, in his foreword for certain auctions. This sale most certainly falls into that category, with over 4400 kg of lots to look at. To compensate for the quantity of larger lots we have added some more shelving. Please make sure to stop by our offices to carefully inspect them.

Start times are 10:00 AM EST, with a 30-minute break at 1:00 PM EST and another at 5:00 PM if necessary. Our auctions are held in Canadian $. Invoices for customers with living outside of Canada will also have the $ US amount at the rate used on the day of the sale.
