51 og/^ imageReturn of the venerable floor sweepings lot. Two cartons of a wide spectrum of US material. We spotted dozens if not hundreds of useful items ranging from classics to newspaper stamps to revenues. There are abundant early commemoratives, sheets of postage and intriguing officials. Some are identified and priced, others strewn at random throughout the small box, two pizza type boxes, or the albums and stockbooks. Condition naturally varies but this lot is perfect for the internet dealer or the treasure hunting collector. A great lot, inspection encouraged as neither the photos nor this description can fully do justice to this lot. 53 og/^ imageThree-volume collection of mint and used stamps, souvenir sheets, and cut squares, 1846 to 1987. All material is carefully and accurately mounted onto clean Scott specialty pages and housed in Scott binders. Occasional minor imperfections noted, but otherwise condition is F-VF throughout, with classic philatelic gems sparkling on each page. Highlights include one of the 1846 Providence Provisional Issues; Scott #1 and #2; a good representation of 1851 to 1861 General Issues; a strong showing of stamps from the 1861 to 1862 Issues; nine 1867 Grills; the 1869s almost complete; most of the stamps printed by the National Bank Note Co., the Continental Bank Note Co., and the American Bank Note Co., 1870 to 1888; the 1893 Columbian Exposition Issue, missing only the $4 stamp; regular issues, 1894 to 1898, missing only the most elusive stamps; the Trans-Mississippi Exposition Issue, one cent to two dollar, complete; the Pan-American Exposition Issue, complete mint; numerous complete or almost complete mint sets of definitives and commemoratives, post-1900 to 1980s; pages of Washington-Franklin singles, sets, imperforate material, coil pairs, etc.; White Plains Souvenir Sheet; mint Kansas-Nebraska overprints; C1-C6 mint; complete or almost complete runs of Special Delivery, Special Handling, Parcel Post, Postage Due, and Hunting Permit stamps; a lovely, fresh, powerful array of Official stamps; a beneficial compilation of Newspaper and Periodical stamps, and an impressive grouping of Confederate States General Issues, Scott #1-#14, missing #10, with two Confederate Postmasters Provisionals. And then there are hundreds and hundreds of Revenue stamps, featuring imperforate, part perforate, and perforate material of the First, Second, and Third Issues along with Documentary, Proprietary, Stock Transfer, Wine, Potato Tax, Narcotic stamps and much more. We also noticed a rather full presentation of postal stationery cut squares. Our many scans bear witness to the strength and potential of this collection. In-person viewing recommended.
