Welcome to Phoenix Auctions #111, starting at 10am on Monday 8th December. This our 13th, and last, auction for 2025. Auction 111 is a public auction and will be held in our Boardroom. We hope you find the wide range of lots appealing and interesting.

Thank you for your support during this year. We will be closing at Noon on 19th December and will re-open 5th January. Next year’s first auction is planned to be in mid-January. We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy festive season.

  • Session 1 (lots 8001-8431) Monday morning with Australian Commonwealth, States and Territories
  • Session 2 (lots 8432-9104) Monday afternoon with the Rest of World.
There are many fine and rare items from around the world in this auction, including our front cover item (lot 8265) a superb 1919 Ross Smith cover, a 3rd Wmk MUH £2 Roo (lot 8049), three 1d Red KGV Die & Plate Proofs (lots 8078-80), a lovely Rosella 1d Roo Die II Envelope (lot 8249), several SA Long Tom imperf varieties (lots 8294, 8295, 8301). Victorian 2d cinnamon Half-Length unused pair (lot 8330). There are several NWPI formes of 30, and a rare MVLH 1st Wmk 5/- Roo (lot 8405).

There is a wide range of British Commonwealth with many rare items, such as, PNG 1960 Postal Charges double overprint (lot 8431), Gold Coast 1889-94 mint 20/- (lot 8738), British Central Africa 1891-95 £10 mint (lot 8912) and Nevis 1866-76 1/- P15 laid paper (lot 8980).

  • The buyer's commission is just 20.9%.
  • New bidders need to be aware that, while there is no room bidding for these auctions, viewing, phone bidding and live internet bidding are still available. Lastly, live bidding will skip over lots without any form of bid, so please enter some sort of bid, even if it is just $1, to ensure that these lots appear during live bidding.
