1844/65, Irish Mail to Canada, collection of 9 covers, showing a vairiety of rates, due markings, forwarding, mail carried by Cunard Line steamships, etc. A fine assembly in slighlty mixed condition, expertly described on exhibit album pages.
1846/2003 (ca.), Irish Postage Due Domestic Mail, extensive research collection of over 125 covers and cards, illustrating a wide range of Postage Due stamp and marking usages, including on request and telegraph forms, on parcel labels, together with a fine group of "POSTED OUT OF COURSE” and "LIABLE TO LETTER” due markings, among many others. Some better items throughout with 1922 Civil War envelope to Limerick, bearing Postage Due 1 d. and 2 d., with blue crayon "6d-unpaid" and endorsement at foot ”IRA raids in POs - NO stamps available"; 1923 underfranked envelope to Liverpool bearing a superb strike of the very rare "Hammer-Head” experimental circular datestamp of Dundealgan; also an attractive selection of mail sent during the Interim Period, and much more. Except for the occasional fault, overall in good condition, neatly mounted and expertly described on exhibit pages, in 2 albums. A remarkable assembly.
1850/84, Irish Mail to Australia and the Australian States, collection of 19 covers, including a rare 1863 envelope bearing 3 d. rose (horizontal pair) tied by scarce Waterford "445” spoon duplex cancel, paying the 6 d. rate, to Tasmania; 1850 entire letter to Melbourne; 1878 registered envelope bearing 2 d. blue and 6 d. lilac, tied by Cork "156” duplex (10 September 1878) to New South Wales, also some insufficiently paid mail, combination frankings, and more. A colourful group in slightly mixed condition, expertly described on exhibit album pages.
1850/52, Irish Mail to Russia, group of four entires, showing routes via Ostende and Prussia, including 1852 printed matter "Steam Communication from Liverpool By Way of Philadelphia”, listing the steamships departure to USA, sent to Reval. A very scarce specialist assembly, neatly mounted and expertly described on exhibit album pages.
1870/72, Irish Mail to Scandinavia, group of 4 covers, including 1870 entire letter bearing 3 d. rose (horizontal pair), paying the 6 d. rate to Sweden, with red "3d” due marking; scarce 1872 envelope bearing 3 d. rose (horizontal pair) to Christiana, Norway, with red "3d” marking; together with two entires to Denmark. A fine group, neatly mounted and expertly described on two exhibit album pages.
1851–1945, mostly used collection on old album pages; includes Sardinia, Tuscany, Parma, Modena, and Sicily, followed by issues of the Kingdom featuring various higher-value stamps and sets; condition varies somewhat.
1851/2003, unmounted mint/unused and used collection, including Post Offices Abroad and Occupations, showing a substantial degree of duplication, with some multiples and a few covers, the collection opens with a generous selection of the Old States with Two Sicilies including 1859 King Ferdinand up to the 50 grana, Sardinia with three entires each bearing 40 c. and 20 c. (Mi.-Nr. 12-13) making up the 60 c. rate to England (all shaved or slightly cut in), the later issues with better values. Slightly mixed condition especially in the classics as to be expected, overall in good and fresh condition, neatly mounted on album pages
1761/1960, group of 300 cards, covers and postal stationery, incuding several better items, 13 covers papal states with attractive frankings, better pre-philately, Airmail, some other areas, interesting group, mostly good condition
1775/1868, group of 27 covers, showing a fine range of usages, commencing with 10 entires to France franked with Papal Sates issues, a fine group of covers from France to Civita Vecchia, with 1863 entire letter bearing Napoléon 40 c. orange, perforated, underpaiying the 50 c. rate and tied by two-line "FRANCA VIA DI MARE” repeated alongside, with due "6” erased and new "20” applied (signed Diena); 1863 entire letter bearing Sardinia 40 c. carmine tied by "PONTELAGOSCURO FERARA 13 GEN 5´63”, repeated alongside, to Trieste (signed Bolaffi), and more. A delightful assembly, except for the occasional fault in overall good and fresh condition, in one stockbook.
1932, Italian Occupation Day 5 c.-25 l. complete set, neatly tied by cds "POSTA AEREA RODI -3 11 32” to registered envelope to Venezia, reverse arrival (November 5). The 30 centesimi with a crease, the envelope with two archival filing folds, otherwise fine. A rare franking, with accompanying certificate Nussbaum-Bisser (1972)

1851/68, unused and used collection with some duplicates, some better issues, including Modena 1859 15 C. unused (sign. Diena), Papal States 1867 10 C. unused (sign. Pfenninger), Naples 1858 ½ Gr. used, etc., few reprints and forgeries noted. Slightly mixed condition
1852/60(ca.), very nice and interesting unused and used collection, with many better items like Papal States Mi.-Nr. 1 corner copy "otto filetti”, postal forgeries, multiples, marginal copies, Mi.-Nr. 6 in combination with LV 30 c., Parma Mi.-Nr. 1 strip of three with red boxed grid, Sardinia Mi.-Nr. 2 on folded letter with cancellation "Nodo di Savoia”, Tuscany Mi.-Nr. 9y used, signed Pfenninger and Köhler, mostly good condition
1852, Coat of arms 40 c. "celeste”, fresh color and good margins, used with bar cancellation, fine, signed Star(auschek)
