Barefoot Revenues Catalogue No 26, with 29.

Revenue-only stamps overprinted with a letter R and a vertical bar were first introduced in Fiji on 1 January 1911. These were the first stamps to be overprinted this way depicting King Edward VII.

A brilliant quality unmounted mint example with full original gum. In particular, the albino impression is very clear (displaced 6mm below and 5mm to left of the printed impression).

A rare variety as only one sheet was ever discovered, and exceptional condition.

The Victory stamps were issued in 1946 to celebrate the return to peace at the end of World War II. The designs feature a view of the Thames River in London, with a view of the Parliament buildings in the distance.

416 C imageFiji 1902 (OC 31) pair of matched "Benedict Pieth" registered covers from Suva to New Jersey, one franked by 1878-99 6d bright rose, the other by 1878-99 4d bright purple and 1891-98 2½d yellow-brown, all perforations 11x11¾, each with two very fine strikes of SUVA despatch circular date stamps, (one tieing adhesives, the second alongside) and boxed "R" registration Hand Stamp at upper left with consecutive numbers.

The faces additionally with incoming registration numbers in blue and red, and both backstamped at Victoria, B.C. (NO 26), Seattle (NOV 28) and Newark (DEC 3), SG58a, 59a, 103a.

A highly attractive and very fine quality matching pair of covers and a rare piece of postal history.

A fine mint set with original gum. A few short perforations and the £1 stamp with slight rubbing as often seen, but overall a nice fresh mint quality set.

This is a particularly scarce King George V set to complete, distributed in several parts between 1912 and 1916.

"SPECIMEN" examples were used solely by postal administrations for reference purposes to help spot any attempted forgeries.
