View near Minyar Station” and tied by Tomsk (21 Oct) c.d.s. with manuscript endorsement “via Harbin”, routed eastward through Manchuria and China and struck with Ipoh, Perak (18 Nov) transit, the reverse bearing two large violet circular “Protector of Chinese / Perak” handstamps, used by the administrative body overseeing Chinese affairs, labour supervision and remittances; the second card, “Sevastopol – Le boulevard de la mer”, sent 13 days earlier on 8 Oct, showing identical franking and address yet no Malayan markings, evidently carried on a route other than the Trans-Siberian/Harbin line, a useful contrasting pair for the specialist, fine.
