Box 506, Lisbon,” dual Axis and British censorship, commercial envelope mailed from Szeged, franked 56 fillér with twenty adhesives of the Crown of St Stephen issue (sixteen 1f and four 10f), all tied by clear Szeged datestamps, addressed to Monsieur Eugen Holz, P.O. Box 506, Lisbon, Portugal, the cover resealed with Hungarian censorship tape and violet examiner marking, and additionally opened and resealed by the British Censorship Office in Lisbon, attractive and very fine; the use of P.O. Box 506 identifies this as mail routed through one of the undercover addresses established by MI6 Section V and the Ministry of Information for monitoring Axis-origin correspondence passing through neutral Portugal, Lisbon serving as the chief wartime intelligence and postal exchange hub for mail between belligerent and neutral territories.
