1221 O/og/nh 35/1970 imageCollection of Mint and Used Canada and BNA, 1880 to 2003, in five thick stockbooks and a few black stock pages, from the personal collection of retired Canada Post designer Bernard J. Reilander. One stockbook begins with several pages of mint and used BNA including New Brunswick (x5), Nova Scotia (x4), PEI, (x3) and Newfoundland (over 120). Canada used begins with a #15, followed by a 5c Large Queen, and then lower-denomination examples of Small Queens, Jubilees, Map, Quebec Tercentenary, then continuing through the early 1970s. The stockbooks finish off with a couple of pages of federal revenues including postal scrip, customs duty, excise, cigarette and Ontario Law. We noted some c.d.s. cancels and a couple of precancels as well. The remainder of the stockbooks are a combination of mint and used. We carefully counted only the mint face value postage in denominations of 15c and over in loose stamps, plate blocks, souvenir sheets (more than 100), full and part-sheets, some booklets and other multiples, plus early Canada Post semi-annual packs (1974 and 1975, total of 16 packs) and 20 pre-packaged plate blocks from 1974-1976 issues. Total face of the mint stamps is over $1,480, over $1,000 of which is in denominations of 30c to $5.00 (see inventory in online photos). Also included is a box (5 lb, 2.3kg) of used mostly sorted by issue into envelopes and glassines; we observed many town cancels from the 1950s and 60s. Great lot for a collector, dealer or postage reseller alike. See our online photos for an overview. 1222 O/og/nh 35/1548 imageCollection of Mint and Used Canada, 1880 to 1995, consisting of thousands of stamps on Minkus and home-made pages in 8 binders, one stockbook and about a hundred loose pages. The stamps are in mounts or hinged, and neatly arranged throughout. There is more than $275 face value from the late 1950's onwards in denominations of 15c and over. Also included is a ratty but interesting store ledger book with revenue stamps paying various excise taxes, along with a glassine of over 100 loose revenues including higher denominations. Rounding out the collection are some collecting supplies (one stockbook, several pairs of tongs and a few open packages of black mounts) and a small tub of about 1.5 lbs of used, mostly Canadian, on and off paper. This is a fun lot for the collector or dealer. See our photos online for an overview of the contents. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (All Scans)

1223 og/nh 35/1292 imageCollection of Mostly Mint Stamps and Plate Blocks, 1880 to 1990, in two hingeless Lindner albums and a full binder for the plate blocks. The early years are used and sparsely filled (we note a few Small Queens, Jubilees, Québecs and Admirals) with increasing completion and largely mint from the late 1930s onward, including a few Unitrade-listed varieties. Face value of the plate blocks is over $550 and we note two items of particular interest: one LL Regiments inscription block (Unitrade #1250, cat $250) and one Legendary Creatures LL inscription block perforation 12.5 x 12 (Unitrade #1292d, cat $425). Total face value of the collection for denominations of 14c and over is above $1,000. Also included is a group of 13 Canada Post Thematic Packs. This lot is clean and very neatly organized and would serve a collector or dealer equally. Our online photos provide an overview. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (Scan 5) (Scan 6) (All Scans)

1224 O/og/nh 35/1403 imageCollection of Mint and Used, 1880 to 1992, in one Minkus album, a binder and two full stockbooks. The album has good representation of most issues, mostly used or mint hinged, from 1880 to the late 1970s along with a few Newfoundland. The binder starts with six pages of used Small Queens (at least 450 stamps) with town postmarks, squared circles, duplex and some fancy cancels in many shades - many with faults but still helpful to the student of the issue. It continues with many hundreds more used Jubilees, Leafs, Numerals, Admirals and some back of the book, on through the early 1950s. The stockbooks are filled mostly with plate blocks, blocks and multiples from Small Queens through the early 1980s. Loose postage is divided by denomination into glassines. Mint postage totals $520 in denominations of 15c and over, including souvenir sheets, inscription blocks, a few full sheets (notably the 1977 Silver Jubilee, 25c x 50 stamps) and a 1984 Canada Post Annual Collection. Clean and fairly organized, mostly fine or better. See photos for an overview. 1228 og/nh 66/1419 imageRetired Dealer Stock of Mint Canada, 1934 to 1995, with well over a thousand stamps in black or clear stock sheets, a 16-page stockbook (black, double sided, total of 32 sides) and a full binder on homemade pages. Included are mint and mint never hinged singles, multiples, plate blocks, booklets and sheets/sheetlets and we counted over $575 in face value postage in denominations of 15c and over (strength in 32c to 43c). We note several areas of interest: many hundreds of mint and mint never hinged singles from the ½c Numeral through the Suzor-Côté issue, often with duplication of up to 20 of each; more than 100 booklets from the Centennials through the 75th anniversary of the NHL, including three of each of the better 1988 Christmas booklets #107, 108 and 109 - total catalogue $366; a good group of Centennial issues (regular, tagged, likely with paper fluorescence varieties but unchecked by us); more than 50 souvenir sheets or sheetlets including 10 copies of the Canada in Space hologram sheetlet showing different placements of the space shuttle; several multiples of G-overprinted officials; four Canada Wildlife Conservation stamp booklets; and a "Canada Postage Stamps 1967" hardcover book (by Roger Duhamel, Queen's Printer). There is very good catalogue value here - a great lot for the vest-pocket or online reseller. Our online photos show an overview of the contents. Early issues are few and scattered, with the bulk of the value in larger-denomination items or larger blocks and sheets. 1232 O/og/nh 226/710 imageCollection of Mostly Mint in 11 Full Lighthouse Albums with Slipcases, 1953 to 1979, in clear or black mounts on album pages. The owner enjoyed collecting singles, multiples, blocks, plate blocks (with much duplication throughout), booklet panes, and FDCs for most issues in the period, often with a miniature pane, full sheet or part-sheet as well, gathering them together and displaying the items with copies of Canada Post PS-14 brochures for them. We noted some related postal stationery and special event items here and there. We did not check for paper varieties, tagging or varieties. Some used stamps were inserted here and there. The retail value of the 11 Lighthouse albums and slipcases alone is over $1,200. This is a very clean collection - great for a collector or dealer alike. We also noted a scattering of Wildlife Conservation stamps (federal and provincial), some tobacco revenues and various seals (Christmas, Easter, "Crippled Children") throughout the collection mixed with postage stamps in the same year of release, as well as some ephemera related to various issues. We counted the mint stamps only and found the face value to be over $5600 in denominations of 15c and over, with strength in denominations of 40c and over.
