961 CVR   image1945 S.S. Scythia Maritime Disaster Cover, fire broke out in the hold of the S.S. Scythia on MAY.25.1945 as she entered the River Mersey to Liverpool, and over 75% of the mail on board was destroyed. This O.H.M.S. / R.C.A.F. #10 size cover was addressed to London after being recovered. It received a straight line handstamp reading "Damaged by Fire & Water". British Office Damaged re-sealing label on the back. Scarce, and better that average condition for a wreck cover. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (All Scans)
