781 CVR   imageCanadian Mail from the 1954 B.O.A.C. Plane Crash at Prestwick, Scotland, a group of 6 covers with varying degrees of damage after the Christmas Day crash. Includes an air letter to Manitoba, two Christmas card covers, both to Ontario and three business covers to Montréal, Halifax and Toronto. The Halifax cover is the Ambulance cover, the original did not survive. The cover to Toronto also has its Ambulance cover. 782 CVR   image1931 Canada Air Mail Cover to Barbados, Crashed in the United States, mailed on JAN.21.1931 at Victoria to a ship's passenger in Barbados, sent via Seattle where it was put on a CAM-22 flight Pasco. The plane crashed at Washougal, Washington on JAN.22. The wreckage was found JAN.29 and the recovered mail had one of 6 similar cachets applied, this one reading "Delayed By Plane Crash / Near Washougal WA 1-22-31" in 2 lines. The cover reached Barbados on FEB.16 and was forwarded by "Da Costa & Co. Ltd." (whose handstamp is on the back) to Port of Spain, Trinidad, via "The Royal Mail Steam Packet Co. / Trinidad B.W.I. 18 FEB 31" (handstamp also on back). 783 CVR   image1966 Crash Cover from the Prince Rupert BC Area, cover is to Victoria, with crash cachet at left reading "Received in Damaged Condition at / Reçu en Etat D'avarie à / Prince Rupert, B.C. / Crash FLT 292" This crash is not listed in Airmails of Canada & Newfoundland, and must have been sent after FEB.23.1966 which is when the stamp was issued. Typical faults, still scarce.

784 CVR   image1941 Recovered Cover from the Plane Crash at Shedden, Ontario, on OCT.30.1941 an American Airways flight over Route AM-7 piloted by David J. Cooper crashed at 10:10 PM after his plane caught fire. 694 pieces of mail were recovered in burnt / damaged condition and forwarded from Detroit, after a 3-line marking was applied. 785 CVR   image1941 Armstrong Ontario Plane Crash Recovered Cover, AAMC #41 0206, a FEB.6.1941 Trans-Canada Airlines flight from Montréal to Winnipeg crashed on approach to the Armstrong Airport. Cover was mailed at Toronto FEB.5 and addressed to Calgary. Has a few oil stains but no postal markings in regards to the crash. The cover came attached to a note for provenance. A scarce crash cover, better than average condition for these, especially for an oversize cover.

786 CVR   image1941 Recovered Cover from a Plane Crash at Armstrong, Ontario, AAMC #41 0206, FEB.6.1941 Trans-Canada Airlines flight from Montréal to Winnipeg, crashed in the bush a mile south from the city, and all on board were killed. Cover was picked up in Toronto and addressed to Seattle with a 2-line "Salvaged from T.C.A. / Wreck of FEB 5/41" applied. Scarce and seldom seen crash cover, in better condition than average.

787 CVR   image1930 Recovered Cover from a Plane Crash at Southesic, Alberta, pilot W.G. Holden was killed about 2:30 AM on SEP.25.1930 when his plane nose-dived in heavy fog. Covers were soaked in oil and scorched. This illustrated advertising cover also comes with a newspaper clipping on the crash, scarce and seldom seen cover.

788 CVR   image1970 Recovered Cover from a Plane Crash in Toronto Ontario, JUL.5.1970 Air Canada DC-8 flight 612 crashed at the Toronto International Airport, Pilot and everyone else on board were killed. 600 pounds of mail were salvaged. This cover is from Port Cartier, Québec, received the smaller of the two sizes of handstamp reading "Salvaged From / Air Crash JULY 5". Typical crash cover condition, also a diagonal crease due to its size.

789 CVR   image1970 Recovered Cover from a Plane Crash in Toronto, Ontario, AAMC #70 0705, JUL.5.1970 Air Canada DC-8 Flight 612 crashed at the Toronto International Airport and the Pilot, Co-Pilot, crew and all passengers were killed. About 600 pounds of mail was recovered, including this cover from the Netherlands to Toronto. All salvaged mail received a 2-line marking in black reading "Salvaged From / Air Crash JULY 5". 790 CVR   imageGroup of Snowbird R.C.A.F. Pilot Signed Covers, 1991-2013, the Snowbirds are the R.C.A.F. flight demonstration team, performing at air shows across the country. These covers were produced by the Canadian Aerophilatelic Society and signed by the pilots performing at shows, etc. Includes 12 covers signed by all 9 pilots from 1992, 1999 (x2 different), 2001, 2003, 2005-2009, 2011 and 2013. Also 17 sets of 9 covers, each signed by one of the pilots from 1991, 1992 (x2 different), 1995-1998, 1999 (x2 different), 2000, 2001, 2004, 2007-2009 and 2011-2013. Also a 1995 set of 20 signed by pilots, technicians and coordinators (2 of the 20 are not signed). Also 3 single signed cards/cover from various events. Most 1990s sets of 9 had only 25 copies produced, so these are quite scarce. Overall very fine, with an original retail value of $1,125. A 1941 registered censored cover with #243 (2) plus Foreign Exchange Control Board label and handstamp. Also a 1943 censored 60c rate cover with 50c Munitions #261, a 1944 60c rate cover with #261 from Vancouver with blackout cancels, a 1946 70c registered cover with #261 plus F.E.C.B. bilingual "Passed for Export" handstamp and lastly a 1950 55c rate special delivery cover with #s E11, 255, 209 (x2) and 271 to pay the triple 15c per quarter ounce rate. 800 CVR   image1939 Clinton to Vancouver, Combination Air and Rail Route, mailed Clinton Ont (MAR.20.1939) and addressed to Vancouver. This letter was carried by three railway post offices to Toronto, then by air to Vancouver, for a next day delivery on MAR.21. The addressee was not located and the letter was returned to sender.
