783 CVR   imageCollection of Welland County Postal History, 1852 to 1970s, all written up and displayed on pages in a binder, with 94 covers and cards. We note c.d.s. (including Welland U.C berri broken circle dated OCT.22.1858, the earliest recorded for this postmark, post office opened 21 days earlier), an 1868 cover mailed from Stockton, California to Welland, redirected from Port Colborne, with "Welland Railroad Down" RPO transit on back, various rate handstamps, corks, duplex, machine and slogans, a few postcards, etc. Also noted a Crowland U.C. (rare, from 1847), Merrittsville C.W. (very rare as post office open only 9 years), nice "old aqueduct at Welland" view (from an old book), etc. Mixed condition, with many very fine. Ex.
