We note many better numbers, but many are difficult to identify, if it were not for the town despatch c.d.s. We note many other attributes, such as a few nice strikes of town postmarks, for example the new LRD for Brooke CW, a Three Rivers changeling, etc. One cover is franked with a deep rose QV #14, one has two early (Oct 1870) copper red 3c SQs, one cover is registered, etc. Some faults, overall fine, all are scanned online. The rest are stamps, with ten in all, each with a choice strike of leaf cancels, either on 1c or 3c Small Queens plus a 2c Québec. The Canadian FDC are mainly Canada Post cachets from the 1980s. Includes a 2-volume "Story of Canada" with gold foil labels, a 1977 Canadian Mint product "The Official Olympic Precious Metal" pack with the 1977 $1 and $2 stamp designs and two Robert Bateman artist signed covers (see scan). 1239 CVR 415 imageCollection Based on the 1963 15c Flying Geese Issue,includes six cacheted First Day covers by Angus Shortt, with Plate 1 and 2 blocks, signed by the artist. Two essay proof colour postcards by Angus Shortt, two unusual FDC by "Popular Postage Stamps" (being a folded Canadian Bill of Rights copy, and one 1965 commercial cover to Germany franked with a pair, paying the 30c rate. Also includes ca. 1958 Migratory Game Bird Permit Lithographed Trial Essay Colour Proofs, in six colours, depicting two wood ducks, printed on glossy surfaced paper by the Canadian Bank Note Company. 1242 CVR 5 image1865 5c rose Queen Victoria on Cover, mailed from Victoria on AUG.15.1868 to Nanaimo. The stamp, which is a scarce upper marginal copy, is cancelled (but not tied) by a #35 in grid. It got properly tied in New Westminster on the same day by their c.d.s. Water damage at bottom right and cut down at left, still fine and attractive. Rsv. (Scan a) Est $ 750
