678 O FWS1 image1918 Dominion of Canada Thrift Card with Stamps, the card has seven 25c War Savings stamps, and space for 16 total. The promise was that if you filled the card with $4 worth of stamps, you had a remittance of $5 on January 1, 1924. The stamps alone catalogue $490 in van Dam and he notes that documents are very scarce. Aging and creases (stamps are fine), still an uncommon item. (Scan a) (Scan b) (All Scans)

679 O FWS2 image1919 $5 green War Savings Stamp on Certificate, the very fine appearing stamp (fault at bottom left) is tied to a folded "Dominion of Canada War-Savings Certificate" by a Trochu Alberta c.d.s. dated DEC.4.1919. The document, once owned by Frederick A. Hess has space for 10 stamps and shows a lavishly illustrated beaver in wreath with slogan "Work, Save, Fight for Canada". One of the three double-sided pages is detached and all pages have small faults, and all have a heart-shaped tear. There is a small newspaper ad pinned to the detached page, which appears to be an old ad from Bileski offering $50 for undamaged copies of this stamp way back when. A rare document.
