1452 CVR Tibet imageGroup of Four Covers Mailed from Tibet with China Stamps, appear to be all from 1954 to 1956. Two were mailed from Lhasa to Katmandu, one is a registered stationery cover from 1956 Shiagtse to Katmandu (this one still has a rare acknowledgement of receipt still attached, with two China postage stamps underneath) and another from 1956 has postmarks "Sharri Basi / Kalimpong / 8 3/4 Mile", Kaliampong, Yatung and Phari Dzong. 1453 CVR Tibet imageTwo Covers Franked with Stamps from Tibet and Nepal, first (circa 1930s) appears to be registered and franked with Tibet #s 17 and 18, plus Nepal #s 31, 32 and 34. Postmarked Lhasa and two others, very fine. Second is a 1955 philatelic cover from Nepal to Tibet with Nepal 2d green (error of colour #44a) a #53 and a #72 on back and Tibet stamp is a #18 with private perforations which is scarce on cover, tied by a very fine strike of Shigatse Type VIII c.d.s. 1454 CVR Tibet imageCirca 1920s Two Combination Franking Covers, both are franked with a 1/6t green Tibet imperforate plus an India 1d KGV. One is described as haing the very scarce shade of apple green, mailed from Lhasa to Nepal with a very late usage of the Lhasa Type VI datestamp. 1458 PC Tibet image1904 Younghusband Expedition Viewcard, mailed from an unknown F.P.O. on OCT.13.1904 to Lebong, franked with a 3 pie QV India issue, with a transit c.d.s. of Field Post Office no. 26 (Chumbi) dated OCT.12.1904 and final receiver in Lebong dated OCT.13. The card depicts "Darjeeling, Himalaya, Tibetan Medicant" and has minor soiling, still a very rare military mission card. 1464 CVR United States imageCollection of Postal Stationery Covers, with a main collection on pages, comprising of both used and unused entires and cut squares, from 1853 to 1974, with varieties, some postmark interest, etc. We have catalogued this album alone at $2,300 with the centering of the cut squares ranging from fine to very fine. Also comes with a bulging stockbook full of cut squares (about 2,000 in all), from 1874 to the 1970s, with average duplication being about a dozen examples of each (some more), but we note lots of postmark interest, and probably a high catalogue value.
