Tied by GALVESTON TEX JUN 2 1914 c.d.s.on a normal envelope, hearing blue crayon manuscript "X-55", Appropriate spindle holes for mounting on parcel. Addressed to a Lieutenant in the 28th Infantry/5th Brigade district in Vera Cruz, Mexico. Van Nostrand remained in the military until his death in 1938 rising to the rank of Colonel. Foundation Cert. (2025).


Incredibly rare , this being one of only three single frankings with appropriate mounting spindle holes for attaching to a parcel.
