4002   image"Kalganskaya Zagranichnaya Poctovaya Kontora" (Kalgan Post Office Abroad) 14 Sep 1908 cancel ties Russia 3k on postcard, accompanied by a similar postmark (4 Aug 1913) used as a receiving cancel on an incoming postcard addressed to Kalgan from the US; Fine and scarce being rated "rare" in T&S handbook; Kalgan is just inside the Great Wall at the border with the Chahar Province of Inner Mongolia, a Russian office operated there 1865-1920 and was treated as the other offices in Mongolia in that normal Russian stamps, instead of the "Kitai" overprints, were used (Image1) 300-400
