4625 ogO   CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA CLASSICS COLLECTION, Collection of over 130 mint and used stamps of the 1860s and 1870s written-up on quadrille album pages, including Costa Rica with a colorful page of 1862 'national emblem' to the 1 peso yellow inc. 4 reales green x3 used as well as an unused strip of four of the 2r with the vertical perforations radically shifted giving the impression of imperf between, most impressive virtually. Then Honduras with dozens of first issues pyramids requiring further research by the specialist, including mint multiples as well as scarce used such as a superb 2 reales black on pink tied on piece by straight line cancel. The Paraguay classics sections is very strong with a page of imperf lions including interesting cancels with superb cds strikes in black and blue on the 1r rose, 1r block of four unused, 2r blue mint and used including on piece, then the 3r black again mint and used with an example identified as a Sperati forgery, as well as further anomalies with 2r issues reprinted in different colors. Written up on old fashion quadrille album leaves and although occasionally mixed condition, this is more than compensated for by the scarcity and unusual cancels. Includes Suriname with 19th Century definitives William III ,with pmks such as St. Nazaire, Le Havre, and Southampton! Also diamond grids, double concentric circle cancels for places such as Bealden Connewijne. Guatemala with quetzals by the dozens with various fancy cancels including colored, stars, pentagons numeral in grid. Puerto Rico from the 1870's onwards with various imperfs and 19th Century perforated issues with early manuscript star ovals. ,Bolivia from the condors through to the types #A7 and #A8, 1880's onwards with concentric circles, rhomboid, colored ovals. 4631 og/nh,   EUROPA AND FORERUNNERS, AN EXTRAORDINARY STOCK FROM 1951-1990S, MAINLY AS BOUGHT FROM NEW ISSUE SERVICE.

Four wooden boxes filled to the gills with virtually all complete series, mint never hinged and used from the Europa forerunners through to the 1990s, occasionally with miniature sheets and booklets. For the most part however, for the many hundreds of stuffed envelopes here containing many thousands of series, yet with only minor duplication. This is a comprehensive stock, country for country, year by year, on this theme. Most of the manila envelopes are a packed with material and this will involve an in-depth viewing in order to appreciate what is here and the huge new issue cost over the decades. The holding starts off covering NATO issues from the early 1950s inc. Turkey, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Greece, the Marshall Plan series of Greece mint never hinged (#539/544), with the forerunners and subsequent related issues virtually filling the box, the other 3 boxes crammed with the Europa from 1956 inc Luxembourg with five superb used, mint similarly, Netherlands including multiples, also Germany etc, followed by 1957 with Luxembourg mint, etc, through to 1960 Ireland, 1960 Great Britain inc. eleven mint series, lots of Portugal by the years, likewise Cyprus mint, etc, etc, tip-top condition throughout. An outstanding range of material with 1000s of stamps filling up a ,large box bulging to capacity, virtually everything here related to Scouts is present, nearly all in complete series including much non-Scott listed, some of which is scarce collateral today such as a special presentation sheet as specifically issued by Harrison and Sons Ltd for the GB 1957 Jubilee Jamboree, as well as various FDCs of the same with a number of different cachets, etc. Also seen scarce Netherlands Boy Scout Jamboree FDC 1937 followed by the same series in combination with Netherland Indies on cover. Other good items inc the 1931 Romania Bucharest Scout series and FDC with the King donning a Scout uniform, as well as FDC of same with similar o/ps 'Mamaia 1934' mint and again on FDC. Another good area is non-Scott listed Paraguay with imperf, m/s and much we have not seen before! Other more obvious material is Siam Boy Scouts with the 1920 first o./ps, 1922 second o/ps and the Scouts Fund third o/ps, all complete, as well as much other Far East well worth spending time on. This is the tip of the iceberg, enjoy a wonderful holding representing a lifetime of buying Boy Scout material all over the world. The holding, often housed on the collector’s album pages is written up, yet also accompanied by many individual items waiting to be incorporated into the main collection, accompanied by fascinating collateral - all part of a 'work in progress'. A completely original old fashioned used collection, with rare stamps from the 19th century with some in exceptional condition, as part of of a solid general collection with material up to the 1950s, offered for the first time! Housed in 21 old posthorn albums on quadrille album leaves, this is a delight to view. For example, Germany with Bavaria #1 superb four margined (cat $1800), as well as many other imperfs both series to 18kr yellow and 18kr red, as well as 'coat of arms' imperf and perf to 18kr etc. Also useful German Empire from 1872, through to Third Reich inc Wagner complete, etc. GB with 1840 black and 2d blue, embossed to 1/-, lots of surface printed inc 1867 to 5/-, through to 1883/4 2/6d through to £, brown lilac (crowns wmk) and , then QV £, green, similarly EDVII to £, green superb. Netherlands #1 - #6, 1867 50ct gold, 1872 to 2 1/2 gld similar 2 1/2 gld 1894, 1913 centenary complete to 10 gld, as well as both types 1920s o/ps on 10 gld, 1923 accession complete with 2 1/2g black and 5g blue. USA with #1 with rich color with four margined manuscript cancel, 1857/60 inc 5ct Jefferson, 1861/66 to 15ct Lincoln, 1869 with 1ct to 15cts, and 30cts again with vivid colors, 1870 with 24cts and 1875 to 90cts red Perry, Columbians and Omahas to 50cts, turn of century to $1 and various other better series to top values $2 and $5 etc, as well as ,solid airmails etc. Greece exceptionally good with a substantial range of Hermes Head from the first issues of the Paris printings onwards, all the way through to the various different printings right up to imperf 1882s, followed by a 3 page study with about 100 stamps specifically with varieties of these, well worth researching with specialized catalogs. Even Ionian Islands present with 1d blue and 2d carmine with straight lines and cds cancels respectively, both rare used. Then BC also represented with much emphasis on 19th century inc Capes, early Egypt, BNA, BWI, interesting Indian Native States etc. Then France and Colonies from #1 onwards inc 1fr Ceres (#9), leading to 5fr Napoleon, Bordeaux complete to 80cts with some very generous margin examples here to 20th century with the orphans complete to 5fr + 5fr blue #B3 to #B10 (cat over $1500), 50fr banknote (#C15) through to colonies from imperf eagles etc. Switzerland from rayon issues onwards inc dark blue 5rp and probably the most magnificent example of the , imperf 1fr Strubeli we have ever had the pleasure to offer, sidewalk margins #30 ($925) and then the most outstanding shade of the 1fr bronze used in St Gallen 16th Feb 1863, as well as two other used examples of the gold and yellowish bronze - of the 3 1fr copies, the St Gallen example is virtually a copper bronze, quite unlike the other two. Then great Scandinavia housed in 3 albums with Sweden , including all the bancos #1 - #5 3sk to 24sk, the 1856 'lokal' pair, 1858/77 to 50 ore complete with shades, as well as 1862/69 with both types of the 17 ore #14 and #15, a lovely cover with 4 examples of #13 the 3 ore bister brown sent from Stockholm to Koping, followed by one of the most important errors of classic Sweden the 20 ore with 30 ore inscription 'Tretio' instead of 'Tjugo', mint Scott #33a (cat $5000), with minor faults mentioned in the Nils Strandell certificate. Iceland from the skillings issues onwards, different series, also prir o/p and a good range of gildis o/ps, leading onto the 20th century with plenty of 5kr and 10krs values inc millennium complete, as well as the high value officials of the same ie #054 - #057 (cat over $2000). Then Norway inc #1 four margined followed by all the Oscars and lions, as well as posthorns to 7sk, various 12 ore green (x 3) different types to explore, etc. Then Denmark equally important with the first issue 2rs , blue #1 with a superb used four margined example and the same again on cover - single usage to Christianshavn - as well as a study of the 4rbs types, through to 16sk imperf and rouletted, also complete 'crown and scepter' with different perfs to 16sk, officials #01 - #03 including perf 12 1/2(#5), newspapers virutally complete, Faroes complete, good DWI etc. Then Finland with a 10 kop posthorn on piece imperf, zig-zag shields to 1mk, a superb used Copenhagen printing on the 32p, all the good defins to 10mk small and large etc and 11 different Greenland from 1905 polar bears, again all superb. Great Far East especially China with large dragons complete, as well as 3 candarins wide margins and different perf on the 1cd, then , 1894 to 24cts and 1897 with a good range of type 1 and type 2 o/ps, 3 red revenues inc different types on 2cents, leading through to various o/ps inc to dollar values, as well as Shanghai and much here to explore - ranges of Thailand, early Korea, Japan including better syllabics and fancy cancels, excellent Iran with the distinct probability among the 11 Persian lions to have the 1878 , 5kr gold high value #36 with double blue cds in magnificent condition, good 'officiels' o/ps again to high values, with many finds undoubtedly to be made. Many other places beyond the remit of this description. 4645 ogO   WORLDWIDE WITH PARTICULAR STRENGTH IN THE EUROPEAN, INCLUDING A GERMANY NEW ISSUE SERVICE TO 2009,

A very interesting range of material housed in about 40 volumes or so in various different types of albums and stockbooks, quite diverse with many 1000s of stamps, mint and used, with no doubt a potential retail running easily into many tens of thousands of dollars. Much is European, inc Germany with Euro zone to 2009 housed in two substantial Lindner albums with occasional parallel mint and used. Other good areas include Berlin with bells to left and right complete never hinged, several dozen booklets displayed in an album, including better from the 1950s and non Scott listed well worth researching. Also seen good Czechoslovakia housed in two volumes, particularly with the 'Posta Ceskoslovenska 1919' o/ps to high values, as well as postage dues of Austro-Hungarian empire, etc, well worth further investigation - other interesting Czech includes non-Scott listed combination se-tenant pairs, as well as back of the book, etc. The Bosnia Herzegovina from the 19th century issues onwards is also well worth researching, particularly for perf varieties. The Balkans strong again with much early Yugoslavia with considerable potential here for the specialist, although in somewhat chaotic presentation. Saar as well as Austria, inc post WWII mint never hinged series inc better, then a very good range of Hungary cram packed 'stamp on stamp' with hundreds of different series, all one of a kind, etc. Another interesting section is the Poland especially the early o/ps and again much non-Scott listed material, 'Pol. Korp' o/ps, locals, etc., Romania also good from early imperf issues and much more to view. There is also a good number of collections on album leaves without binders waiting to be incorporated into the main collections themselves. This lot deserves much time to be spent on it to be appreciated. The above description is just an outline of various albums chosen at random, it is a must sell instruction and highly recommended to put on the list to view, especially for dealers.
