137 c Sieger #23f imageSieger #23f, 1929 Orient Flight, Zeppelin photo card dropped at Jerusalem without franking, addressed to Germany so charged 30(pf) postage due in blue crayon, backstamped with the proper Jerusalem repetitive slogan machine cancel of "27 Mar. 29.8PM" which confirms that this was in the small bag of mail dropped at Jerusalem, also most unusual on this drop is a red on-board cachet of the "Graf Zeppelin" dated 26 Mar. 1929 rather than the usual flight cachet for the Orient Flight, extremely fine; much of the mail that was backstamped Jerusalem on March 27th was actually dropped at the major Er Ramle drop and carried to Jerusalem the same day by rail, the few covers actually dropped at Jerusalem always have this 8 p.m. machine cancel; very rare and seldom offered (Sieger €1,150; Michel #18IIi).
