#10, 1857 6p Reddish purple on very thick soft paper, an extraordinarily choice example of this very rare stamp, which happens to be one of the most difficult of all the Pence issues to find in premium quality, this particular copy is fault free and features four large margins, bright fresh color and a strong impression, tied to a small and marvelously clean cover to the United States by clear numeral "21 ringed cancel of Montreal, with matching "Montreal/L.C./JU 1/1858" double-arc c.d.s., at left, extremely fine; an especially desirable stamp in this outstanding quality and particularly on original cover; 2003 Greene Foundation certificate. #15 var., 5c Vermilion, major re-entry, position 28, a magnificent used example of the most significant double transfer found on this value, showing significant doubling of the frame lines at left and in the inscriptions of "Canada' and "Five Cents", the example offered here has many physical characteristics that are considered outstanding for a normal #15 let alone this rare variety, including being beautifully well centered within uncommonly large margins, with all perforations clear of the design, a feature rarely found on this issue, absolutely brilliant vermilion color and a razor-sharp impression highlighting the re-entry, very lightly cancelled by black target that also in no way obscures the variety, an extremely fine gem; this example is considered to be among the finest, if not the finest, used copies of this very rare re-entry; 1999 Brandon certificate (Unitrade #15v; C$750.00).
