BALANCE OF THE COLLECTION
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
295 og/nhPB 374/1053, C7/E23 #374/1053, C7/E23, The Balance of the remarkable Dr. Frederick S. Fogelson plate block collection, a wonderful assemblage of 429 plate blocks (and a few souvenir sheets), consisting largely of low to medium catalog value plates, while quite choice for the most part, are not of sufficient value to offer individually, begins with a nice range of low denomination Washington-Franklin issues, from 1919 onward the commemorative issues are quite solid through 1940 including the 1940 Famous Americans, regular issues from 1923 through 1954 are also well represented, including complete sets of the 1938 Presidentials and the 1954 Liberty series, air posts are found as well through the late 1970's, concluding with a small group of special delivery issues, of course all were collected as full top positions where appropriate, centering throughout is uniformly select, plus virtually all are exceptionally fresh, o.g., large majority are n.h. (if hinged, they are typically very lightly so), only a small occasional flaw or mild perf. separations will be found, overall a very fine and desirable basis upon which to begin collecting plate blocks in the most desired position. $10,270.00

SOLD for $9,000.00
Closing..Feb-11, 05:00 PM
