#7/722, C1/JQ4, The high quality balance of the Donald H. McCree, Jr.
collection, being a desirable assemblage of 337 different items all
neatly housed in a single Scott hingeless album, covering the period of
1851 through 1932, largely being the low to medium catalog value items that
could not be offered as individual lots, but nevertheless are of similarly
high quality, very sparse in the 19th century issues, most of which are
used, then from 1890 to the 1920's the collection seems spotty but contains
a wonderful range of very salable stamps in select quality, with particular
strength in the Washington-Franklin series (including coil singles and
pairs), the 1923-30 era is very solid including a White Plains souvenir
sheet, the back-of-the-book issues for the same period are represented,
again spotty but there are several very nice stamps to be found, especially
in the postage dues, condition overall is unusually high for a collection
"balance", with only q few faults noted, the great majority are well
centered and feature bright colors, mint stamps all have o.g. and a
majority will be found n.h., largely very fine or better; 20 PF or PSE
certificates accompany (a few being photocopies). |
