1221 ogbl 12, 12a, b, 12 var. #12, 12a, b, 12 var., 5c Blue, printing 7, form 4-B, stage VI, full intact bottom sheet of 100, possessing full selvages with a bottom and two side imprints, this particular printing has the following major varieties, "Pamana" reading up (positions 54, 59), "Canal" in antique type (position 26) and "Zone" in antique type (position 48), plus other minor varieties of antique letters, etc., an amazingly well preserved sheet without separations, full but typically dried o.g. as is usually found on stamps from this tropical location, overall nicely centered, fine-very fine and an attractive sheet of which there cannot be many still intact in this condition; catalog value is for varieties plus singles. $1,073.00+

1222 og 12c image#12c, 5c Blue, "Canal Zone" double, printing 3, mint single, showing two distinct and strongly printed overprints, fresh bright colors, full o.g. and relatively lightly hinged, very fine; a total of 200 of this error were issued, being two sheets from different printings, Dr. Perry reports that most of the sheet from printing 3 was used on mail to the West Indies and lost to collectors, making this mint example much scarcer than mint examples from printing 7. 1223 O 12e image#12e, 5c Blue, "Panama" overprint inverted, bar at bottom, used example as always, with central target cancel, centered to the top, couple of light creases and short perfs. at bottom, fine appearance; despite the less than optimal condition, this is an extremely rare overprint error with only 12 examples recorded by Plass, all of which are used. 1224 ogbl 13, 13b, 13 var. #13, 13b, 13 var. 10c Yellow, printing 6, form 3-D, stage III, full bottom sheet of 100 with nearly full selvage including two side imprints, couple of pieces missing from the bottom affecting that imprint, this printing includes a number of better varieties including "Panama" 16mm long (positions 25, 30), inverted "M" in "Panama" (positions 24, 29), left "Panama" touching bar (positions 91, 96) and "Zone" in antique type (position 48), plus other spacing and type varieties, tropicalized o.g. with slight adherence in the top row, some perf. separation including the middle vertical nearly separated, flaws to selvage but stamps are fine-very fine including all the varieties; catalog value is for varieties plus singles. $3,017.50+

1225 ogbl 13, 13a, b #13, 13a, b, 10c Yellow, seventh printing, form 4-A, stage IV, full bottom sheet of 100 with complete selvages with bottom imprint and two side imprints, this printing shows the two major varieties of "Canal" in antique type (position 26) and "Zone" in antique type (position 48), plus other minor type varieties including the dark carmine "Panama" overprint printed at an angle causing some split overprints at bottom right, quite intact though some perf. separations, very slightly dried o.g. which is actually quite fresh for these issues, couple light vertical gum bends, fine-very fine and uncommon in full sheets; catalog value is for varieties plus singles. $2,580.00+

1228 og 15 image#15, 8c on 50c Bister brown, 13mm. "Panama" reading up, select quality example of the rarest regularly issued stamp from Canal Zone, wonderfully well centered and far better than normally encountered as most are quite off center, in addition the "Panama" overprint is shifted to the bottom left showing portions of three "Panama" and the bar is split showing at top and bottom with the larger portion being at bottom, strong rich color, o.g. that is much fresher than usually found as most have quite disturbed gum, very fine; in superior condition to the vast majority of the 500 issued (CZSG #15.8ab). 1229 og 15 var. image#15 var., 8c on 50c Bister brown, 14 3/4 to 15mm "Panama" reading up, position 53, handsome mint example of this overprint variety, deep rich color, typical centering for these rare stamps, with perfs. just cutting design at bottom, disturbed o.g. as all serious Canal Zone specialists recognize as the norm, even the Scott Catalog mentions this, fine; a rare variety as only 30 were issued with this "long" overprint; 1990 APS certificate (CZSG #15.2b). 1230 ogbl 18, 18a, 18 var. image#18, 18a, 18 var., "8 cts." on 50c Bister brown, top sheet of 100, only lacking the top selvage but with imprints at sides, only one setting of each of the "Canal Zone" and "Panama" overprints were used for this but all sheets contain the varieties "Zone" in antique type (position 48), "Panama" down at left and up at right (positions 1, 51), and sixteen examples of "Panama" 15mm long (positions 3-10, 53-60), sheet is strongly intact except for some separated perfs. in the center vertical row, overall well centered, normal dried o.g., five left stamps in the bottom straight edge row are slightly faulty along the edge, otherwise fine-very fine; an exceptionally scarce surcharged value to find still intact as a sheet; catalog value is for varieties plus singles. 1233 c 23a image#23a, 2c Red and black, imperforate between, horizontal pair on business size registered cover used locally in Ancon, accompanied by 2c Carmine red and black single in the same shade as the error pair, a normal pair in the red shade and a 2c Vermilion and black of the next issue (#23, 23f, 27), all tied by oval Ancon cancels, plus "Ancon, C.Z./Registered/Nov 9 1909" double circle c.d.s. on front and back, vertical fold to cover not affecting the stamps and light facial rub from cancel on the left stamp of the error pair, pair is otherwise very fine; an extremely rare error to be found on cover (perhaps unique), as only 20 pairs of this error were originally issued.
