2462 nhbl S.G. #116c, 116cf imageS.G. #116cf, 1942 2/- Purple and blue on deep blue ordinary paper, perforated 14, gash on chin, variety is the middle left stamp in a mint top sheet-margin block of six (2x3), positions 5-6/17-18/29-30, colors are deep on strongly blued paper, well centered, o.g., n.h., light vertical gum creases to the right strip, not affecting the plate variety which is very fine and exceptionally choice (Scott #123a var.). 2463 c S.G. #116c/120b S.G. #116c/120b, 1941 -1946 2/- to 12/6 King George VI, correspondence of seven covers to a the same party in Edgbaston, England, all are air mail and required high values for the air mail fee, all but three are legal size or larger and most are from a bank in Bermuda, includes one large registered cover posted in August 1943 with two 2/-, and singles of 2/6, 5/-, 10/- and 2/6 values making a five-color franking, all tied and a scarce commercial usage, most posted during wartime and several with censor tape, stamps are fine-very fine, covers have postal wear and edge faults because of the nature of their usage (Scott #123a/127a). Est. 200-300

2464 nhbl S.G. #116d, 116db imageS.G. #116db, 1943 2/- Purple and deep blue on pale blue ordinary paper, perforated 14, shading omitted from top right scroll, position 1, being the top left stamp in a mint top left corner sheet-margin block of four, positions 1-2/13-14, exceptionally fresh and attractive with strong colors, o.g., hinged in the selvage only, stamps are n.h., choice very fine; this is one of the scarcest and most striking of the plate flaws in the King George VI issues, it is found only on the 1943 printings of the 2/- and £1 values, and there was only one example of each value in Mr. Gosling's collection (Scott #123a var.). 2476 nhbl S.G. #117a, 117ac imageS.G. #117ac, 1942 2/6 Black and red on grey blue, line perforated 14 1/4, lower right scroll with broken tail, the variety being the bottom right stamp in a mint top sheet-margin block of four, positions 9-10/21-22, deep colors including dark grey blue paper, brownish o.g. that has caused slight toning that shows to the front but largely confined to the top selvage, a crisp block and nearly very fine centering; this plate flaw, which shows in position 22, is one of the scarcer varieties of the King George VI issues being found only in the line perforated issues and even then much less often than the other plate flaws (Scott #124a var.).
